All questions are four-choice, multiple-choice, with one correct answer and three
incorrect ones. We do not use "pick the best answer" or "two of the
above", etc. Questions are clear and unambiguous.
All questions come from valid, mainstream textbooks, such as the IFSTA series, NFPA,
Fire Engineering, Brady, Delmar, ICMA, Mosby, FPP, etc. All questions are documented
by book and page.
Questions are drawn randomly from question banks, so each test batch ordered is unique
and has never been seen before. This is especially useful for departments who order
promotion tests each year from the same booklists. With this company, each year the
actual questions are different. There is no higher security.
Procedure
Customers either specify which books to draw questions from or may leave that to us or
ask for suggestions. They can even specify to include or exclude certain chapters
from books. We also write custom questions from customers' own SOPs or Union
Contracts, etc., up to 10% of any test, at no extra charge.
Customers choose the length of the test, usually 100 questions, pick an administration
date, tell us how many candidates, and that's it. We do the rest.
Customers receive the testing materials, sealed, signature-required, about a
week before testing. After testing, all materials are dropped in the
provided return shipping pouch and returned to us for scoring. Score
reports are ready within 24 hours of our receipt.
An efficient procedure for dealing with challenges is included in the instructions to
proctor.
Cost
The above prices assume a 100 question test.
For tests of length 101 to 150
questions, add $80 to setup fee, $5 per candidates 11 - 50, $3 per candidates 51
- 250, and $2 per candidates 251+. For tests of length 151 to 200 questions, add
these amounts again.
For custom-developed SOP-type questions above the free 10% per test batch,
add $15
per question.
For elaborate custom requirements, such as incorporation of user-supplied graphics, or
translation of scores into non-standard scoring schemes, or specifying particular topics
(not just chapters) in books, etc., anything which requires the dedicated time of a
specialist, add $125 per hour.
